Mercedes Ocean Drive Concept
January 12th, 2007
Mercedes-Benz unvieled the stunningly elegant and modern Concept Ocean Drive, an ultra-luxury four-door convertible. The debut was held on a full ice skating rink that Mercedes-Benz created in Cobo Hall to celebrate 100 years of all-wheel-drive vehicles from Mercedes.
Today Mercedes offers one of the most complete lines of all-wheel-drive vehicles of any manufacturer and each model line was featured driving on the ice, including the new S-Class 4MATIC and the new E-Class 4MATIC, along with hockey players, figure skaters and even a dogsled. The S-Class 4MATIC features the fourth-generation 4MATIC for the first time.
Luxury Comparison Test
December 13th, 2006
It used to be said that when purchasing a luxury vehicle, your choices are limited to cushy, glitzy Cadillacs, Chryslers, and Lincolns. Seemingly overnight, favorable media reports and neighborly word-of-mouth turned these fun, but infrequently seen BMWs, Jaguars, and Mercedes-Benzes into the must have symbols of success, and by the early 1980s, young Americans no longer tried to have a Coupe de Ville painted Retirement Gold.
They wanted a sporty BMW 3 Series like the one Andrew McCarthy drove in “Pretty in Pink,” and they wanted it by the time they were 30 years old. Ignorant to rapidly shifting consumer preferences, Cadillac, Chrysler, and Lincoln chased Tom Brokaw’s “Greatest Generation” to the grave, nearly nailing their own coffins shut in pursuit of short-term profits.

The arrival of the new Mercedes-Benz CL-Class is now supplemented by Brabus’ announcement of a tuning program for the car.
