2008 Viper ACR Priced Under $100,000

December 14th, 2007

2008 Dodge ViperWhen we first saw the 2008 Viper ACR we thought for sure that it would be given a price tag of $100,000 – but Chrysler assured us that they would price it lower. This week we noticed that they kept their word when we saw that the price tag was $98,110. They kept their word – but they came as close as they could to the high number.

The $12,000+ you spend over the base Viper coupe will get you a carbon fiber front splitter and adjustable rear wing, adjustable coilover suspension, a stiffer front anti-sway bar, lightweight 2-piece Stoptech brakes, and forged wheels wrapped with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires.

Hyundai Veracruz Will Have Gentex Auto-Dimming Mirrors

July 11th, 2007

2007 Hyundai VeracruzGentex Corporation is an international company that supplies automotive industries with high quality auto dimming rearview mirrors. These mirrors are designed to dim when bright headlights are behind you, making it easier for you to see. Hyundai has decided to use these mirrors in their brand new Veracruz.

The Veracruz SE and Limited trim levels come standard with a Gentex three-mirror auto-dimming system in which the interior, driver- and passenger-side exterior mirrors automatically darken to reduce glare from rearward approaching vehicles. The brighter the glare, the darker the mirrors become, making nighttime driving safer.

2005 Buick Lacrosse

November 17th, 2006

2005 Buick LacrosseThe 2005 Buick LaCrosse is an elegant and good alternative to the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, champions of the midsize sedan category, but doesn’t match their quality or refinement. It does, however, represent a monumental improvement over the boring duo it elbows from the lineup the Century and Regal. The LaCrosse is Buick’s harbinger of change.

This svelte yet unexciting midsize sedan signals a new direction for the company bolder and better. It happens to be both, compared with previous Buicks. But the cars it replaces were so inferior that even a quantum improvement hasn’t elevated the LaCrosse to Accord and Camry territory, despite Buick executives who say otherwise.
