Jaguar’s biggest sedans have been given revised styling and a new top-line model for 2006. Base XJ8 and performance XJR models continue on a 119-inch wheelbase. XJ8 L, Vanden Plas, Super V8, and new Super V8 Portfolio use a 124-inch chassis.
All models have a 4.2-liter V8. The XJ8, XJ8 L, and Vanden Plas have 300 hp. The supercharged XJR and Super V8 have 400. A 6-speed automatic is the only transmission. ABS and traction/antiskid control are standard, as are front side airbags and curtain side airbags.

Making its world premiere next month at the Frankfurt International Auto Show in Germany, the all-new Jaguar XK will go on sale in North America next spring as a 2007 model year product.
The all-new Jaguar XK is the first of a new generation of cars that reflects the best of everything that Jaguar is associated with. From gorgeous, contemporary design to renowned craftsmanship and quality, alongside the latest driver, focused technologies, and of course exhilarating performance.
Jaguar’s premium mid-sized sports saloon – the S-TYPE – has further developed. Unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2004 and on sale from April, the design has been extensively re-worked and refined to achieve a more athletic, contemporary look, with cleaner, tauter, more muscular lines and subtly modified proportions. The use of lightweight aluminium rather than steel for the bonnet gives improved weight distribution and handling balance. The revised shape also brings tighter panel fits and enhanced performance. Transformed by subtle and sophisticated changes, the S-TYPE retains its highly individual look and remains true to the Jaguar brand.
