Is this the 2008 Honda Accord?
May 31st, 2006
Last week an artist’s rendering depicting what is allegedly the 2008 Honda Accord began making the rounds online. While renderings from Japanese auto magazines are rarely noted for their accuracy, we decided it would be worth highlighting due to the amount of publicity this image has received. While the rendering itself may not be representative of the actual car, the general idea it proposes is interesting. Essentially, it depicts a large sedan with the same design cues as the new Honda Civic.
Now this picture has been floating around the internet for about a week, but there seems to be quite a few “reliable” sources that indicate this rendering is for real. Whether this will eventually transform into a new Acura TSX, or stay as the Honda Accord (the two models currently share many components) remains to be seen.

It’s funny, really, because people said that the new Civic looks like a shrunken down Accord, while those same people are saying that this new Accord looks like a stretched out Civic. Will this look be a new design language for Honda?

Honda Developing Clean Burning Diesel Engine
May 24th, 2006Honda Motor Co. said last week that it will develop a four-cylinder diesel engine within three years that will run as clean as a gasoline engine.
Many automakers are racing to clean up their diesels to meet tightening emission standards. Honda’s announcement was a bold statement, given the technological challenges.
CEO Takeo Fukui said Honda will offer two diesel engines in North America, a four-cylinder and a V-6. He said both will meet a U.S. emissions standard known as Tier 2 bin 5. He gave no timetable for the V-6.
