Ford Mondeo Concept

September 22nd, 2006

Ford Mondeo Front CornerFord has officially released a full photo gallery of the Mondeo wagon concept, due to be unveiled in Paris next week.

The new Mondeo lifts several cues from the Iosis concept that debuted in Frankfurt, which, according to Ford, is defined as ‘kinetic design’. The wagon sports an aggressive front fascia, with very pronounced air dams that compliment a set of tautly drawn headlamps. Aft of the a-pillar is typical wagon fare, donning a strong crease in the beltline, which flows into an equally aggressive LED taillight arrangement. Beginning with the S-MAX and Mondeo, Ford maintains that this new “face” of the Blue Oval’s European line will carry over to all its models over the coming years.

California Sues Automakers Over Global Warming

September 20th, 2006

Traffic In CaliforniaCalifornia’s attorney general on Wednesday sued the six largest U.S. and Japanese automakers for damages related to greenhouse gas emissions. The federal lawsuit alleges that emissions from their vehicles have harmed Californians’ health, damaged the environment and cost the state millions of dollars to combat their effects.

“It’s part of a strategy to address global warming,” Attorney General Bill Lockyer told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. “The goal of this one is to hold these automobile manufacturers accountable for the monies taxpayers are spending to address these harms.”
