November 26th, 2006

2006 Chevrolet UplanderThe 2006 Chevrolet Uplander is hands-down the best minivan GM has ever offered. The Chevy Uplander puts GM on much better footing in one of the auto industry’s most competitive segments. Uplander comfortably seats seven, with a choice of individual captain’s chairs or a two-place bench seat in the second row. And it takes care of its passengers in a well-designed, nicely finished interior.

The base LS model offers a high level of standard equipment, including a subscription to GM’s OnStar tele-aid service. Uplander also offers the unique PhatNoize removable hard drive, which allows its onboard entertainment system to play or display everything from MP3 music files to family photos to video games to the latest movie releases.

2009 Corvette Stingray

November 14th, 2006

2009 Corvette StingrayFrom a far distance this Vette would appear to be just another Z06. But when you take a closer look you’ll see that these are the first shots of the highly anticipated, but yet unnamed super Corvette. The large hood bulge you see is rumored to be concealing a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, and packing upwards of 650 horsepower.

This engine will likely use an integrated intake-manifold intercooler and should sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3.4 seconds. And, with the addition of more carbon fiber in the body and expanded use of polycarbonates, this super Vette could weigh less than the current Z06.

2005 Corvette C6-RThe brand-new Corvette C6-R race car debuted at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March 2005 after a full year of rigorous testing and development. The two-car, factory-backed Chevrolet sports car program competed in the production-based GT1 class (formerly GTS) of American Le Mans Series as well as the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans in France, a race where the Corvette has won its class for three out of the past four years.

The new race car is the most technically advanced sports car ever developed by General Motors, culling years of experience from the dominant Corvette C5-R as well as the advancements brought forth from the next-generation Corvette C6 and Z06 production models.
