2006 Chevrolet Cobalt

Chevy touts Cobalt as a “premium subcompact” that’s superior in every way to the old Cavalier, hence the new name. Cobalt shares GM’s Delta platform with the Saturn Ion. Next summer, Chevy is due to start building a Delta-based “retro wagon,” the 2006 HHR (short for “heritage high roof”–don’t ask). It’s a four-door styled to resemble a 1949 Chevy Suburban and is about the same size as the Chrysler PT Cruiser that probably inspired it. Powertrains come from Cobalt, including the supercharged engine, we understand. GM officials hint at a base starting price of around $23,000 and say they’re aiming for 100,000 sales per year.
2007 Chevrolet Tahoe

The all new and improved 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe will soon be on showroom floors – and at a great value. Those nicer materials, that attractive new design, it all comes with a corresponding jack in the price, but that’s not the case with Chevrolet. Maybe it’s part of a New Year’s resolution to be nicer to consumers’ wallets, or maybe there’s actually some grasping of the idea that GM needs to be more competitive in terms of sticker price in order to move more units.
2006 Z06 Chevrolet Corvette

The ultimate Corvette—the 2006 Corvette Z06—is posting numbers at the track and on the window sticker that will get attention. Chevrolet has announced that the fastest Corvette ever—the 505-horsepower Corvette Z06—will achieve 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds while still in first gear, and pricing will start at $65,800, including destination and freight charges.
