2007 Ford Edge

2007 Ford EdgeFord is joining the growing list of automakers adding CUVs, crossover utility vehicles, to their lineup. The Ford Edge is a midsize SUV set top go on sale in fall. Edge will have three rows of seats and be built off of the new Ford Fusion platform. Other ties to Fusion can be found in the vehicle’s chrome three-bar front grille.

The 2007 Ford Edge features a panoramic sunroof, MP3-player jack, laptop storage space in the center console, and a fold-down front-passenger seat. A new 250-hp 3.5-liter V6 mated to a 6-speed automatic is the sole powertrain option. Ford expects Edge to get fuel economy in the mid-twenties.

Front-wheel drive will be standard, with all-wheel drive available as an option. Safety features include Ford’s AdvanceTrac stability-control system with roll stability, and its Safety Canopy rollover-protection system.
