2007 Chrysler Aspen

Chrysler launches its first SUV as the 2007 Aspen. This is essentially a dressed-up Durango from Chrysler’s Dodge brand. The two share V8 powertrains and seating for up to eight passengers, though Aspen has Chrysler-themed appearance touches inside and out.
The 2007 Chrysler Aspen comes standard is a 235-hp 4.7-liter V8, optional is Chrysler’s 335-hp 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with cylinder deactivation that saves fuel by shutting down four cylinders while cruising. A 5-speed automatic is the only transmission. Both engines are available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The AWD system standard with the 5.7 V8 and optional with the 4.7 includes low-range gearing. Maximum towing capacity is 8950 lb. Antilock 4-wheel disc brakes and an antiskid system with rollover sensors are standard. So are head-protecting side curtain airbags that cover all three seating rows and include rollover deployment.
Options include leather or leather-and-suede upholstery, rear DVD entertainment, power liftgate, navigation system, and rear obstacle detection. An optional 2nd-row bench seat replaces the standard buckets to increase passenger capacity to eight from seven.
